The Haw River Trail
Don't Try This at Home....or on the river!
 |
First - Never ever go on the river without a
life vest.
Second - Never go on the river when it is at flood stage
...you cannot
predict what conditions you will find.
Although this may look calmer than rivers you may hay rafted
on in the mountains with a guide remember that your guide
has been down that river dozens of
times and knows every trouble spot and how to negotiate them.
Third - Never ever go on the river without a life vest. |

Preparations being made for the rescue. |

Luckily the boat's motor was just
strong enough to fight the current.
